Jakarta Here We Come!

Greetings!!

Is sooo cold here in my office, that when I came in it was 37 degrees fahrenheit. Thankfully, I have a heater in my office. So, how are you?
Are you staying warm these days?

I have some news for you, something that will definately keep me warm for a while. That is March 8th-13th, We, Pastor Masago, his wife, and five h.s./college students will be going on a missions trip to Jakarta (where it is 95 degrees). My goal is to instill in the students a desire to see God work in and through them to make an impact for Jesus Christ. So, I thought why not send them on a mission trip? This is will be the fir ...

Dear Praying Friends,
The GREAT NEWS is that Rev. Kumagami has decided to be the new
pastor at the Obiyama Bible Church!!!!  Please pray for God to prepare the
hearts of the members there and Rev. and Mrs. Kumagami's hearts as well.
Also, there are financial matters involving key deposit on a house for  the
pastor, etc.  Please pray for the Obiyama members to move forward in faith.
Also, please pray that God will give me wisdom in how to encourage the members
in these days of transition.  The new pastor and family will come on April 1.
I met with Kozue last week and God did give opportunities to witness!  Thank you for
praying.  Hitomi couldn't come because her grandfather died.  Please pray that she
will be able to come later.  The Gingira coffee shop English class had 3 people in
attendance and went well.
We had a good turnout (14 of us) ...

Pray that God will use the messages and grow Joel through this experience.
This Sunday we will be having an "event" to make new contacts (do this the
5th Sunday of a month). Please pray that new people will come and that we
can build good relationships with them that will bring them to church and Christ.
Mrs. Nagano came to English at the beauty salon yesterday! God seemed to be
working in hearts during the Bible time shown through comments.

Dear Praying Friends,
Thanks so much for praying.  The Obiyama church had a very positive
meeting time (message too) on Sunday with Rev. Kumagami.  Please
pray for the believers to be united in seeking God's will in this choice
of a pastor.
I had 3 people at the Gingira Coffee Shop English conversation time.
It went well.
I had 7 at Children's English on Friday and they seemed to listen well
as we talked about prayer.  Please pray for God to work in their hearts
as we continue this topic this week.
This next Monday I will have English (w/Bible) at the beauty salon.  Please pray
for Mrs. Nagano to attend and for God to work in hearts.
We had good Bible studies at the Obiyama church this week.  Please continue to
pray for all of us to grow in Christ.
The Smiths will leave for the U.S. this next Tuesday, the ...

Dear Praying Friends,
I'd really like you to pray about a special prayer request for me....
On Sunday there will be a pastoral candidate speaking at the Obiyama Bible Church where
I teach the Ladies Bible Study.  This church has been without a pastor for several years.
Please pray that God will give wisdom and unity among the members as they consider this
man (Rev. Kumagami) for pastor.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
Yours for Japanese Souls, Sue
