Carr’s September 20 Prayer Update

Hi, everyone!

It’s been a busy month since we last wrote. We’ve had the start of school, football season (which for our family meant the start of marching band performances), visited two supporting churches, celebrated Tom’s parents’ 60th(!) anniversary, enjoyed a brief visit from Paula’s sister and brother-in-law, celebrated the three birthdays of the male members of our family, and started participating in some of the church and community ministry needs and opportunities. We’ve finally stopped bowing at everyone we meet, but still forget occasionally and down go the head and shoulders! The kids seem to have adjusted well to life here in the U.S. and also find themselves busy with many activities and ministries (and even do homework occasionally, too!. Please PRAY for us all to remember to work at keeping God as our number one priority and not lose sight of Him in the flurry of doing!

Mitch turned 18!

We went on a great youth outing with young people from New Harmony Baptist Church in Caldwell, OH
Please continue to PRAY for the work in Izumi. It sounds like Kanta and Yuu continue to attend the service on Sunday fairly regularly and Shuuichi comes later for the food! We heard one of the men of the church (who really doesn’t attend all that regularly) was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that could end his life at anytime. Please PRAY for Mr. Takahashi’s healing and especially for him to realize the importance of putting Christ first as he (like all of us) doesn’t know how long he has on this earth. Please pray for continued spiritual growth among the believers there, as well as opportunities to share the gospel. Please PRAY for wisdom and strength for all our co-workers in Japan, as well as for the McVicker family to be raise their needed prayer and financial support in order to join the work over there.

Here’s our upcoming travel schedule:
Oct. 22 Faith Baptist, Sequim, WA
Oct. 29 Community Baptist, Orting, WA
Nov. 5 Abbe Road Baptist, Elyria, OH
Nov. 12-15 Eastgate Bible Fellowship, Bellevue, WA

Thank you once again for your faithful prayers, support, birthday and anniversary greetings and for your love and interest in the people of Japan, particularly in Izumi. May the prayer of all of our hearts be the same as the words of a closing song sung in one of our churches recently: “Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful!”

CARRying the Gospel,

Tom, Paula, Mitchell and Tev; Lindy (at Cedarville University) and Andrew (in Cincinnati)
