Carr’s October 13 Prayer Update

Hi, everyone!

Fall is in the air….then it’s not….then it is! Crazy weather around here, but at least it keeps things interesting!

Who doesn’t love a parade? Well, probably lots of people, but parades in Cedarville are a time to get out into the community and spend a little time with neighbors, friends, and in this case (Cedarville University’s homecoming), see people who come back into town after a long absence for the festivities. For us, we also had the opportunity to see two of our children pass by while playing in the marching band!

Yesterday we had the privilege of spending time with the “Young at Heart” folks in our home church in Cedarville. One couple is celebrating 65 years of marriage this month. What a great group of people whose lives have been lived for God were gathered in that room! Tom sang a special number with his father for the first time in many years. We also had the opportunity to share about the work in Izumi with ones who regularly partner with us in ministry through prayer and many have done so since we first went to Japan in 1994!

Please continue to PRAY for our co-workers in Japan. Not only the ones in Izumi where we work (the Petites, Paul Shook, Julie Paquet, as well as lay workers, Mr. and Mrs. Uchizono), but Norman and Susan Smith, Sue Hahn (in Kumamoto), and Chris and Donna Sadowitz (in Miyakonojo). PRAY also for the national pastors who have labored faithfully for many years. PRAY for godly, younger Japanese men to rise up to take their place as many of them are nearing retirement age, if not already beyond. PRAY, too, for the McVicker family as they continue to raise prayer and financial support to be able to join the ABWE Japan team.

PRAY for us during the next month or so, when we’ll be doing quite a bit of travelling. PRAY for hearts to be touched for the work in Japan as we visit these churches, and for God to continue to work in us, to change us further into His likeness.

Here’s our upcoming travel schedule:
Oct. 16-20 ABWE Int’l Headquarters, Harrisburg, PA (Tom)
Oct. 22 Faith Baptist, Sequim, WA (Tom, Paula)
Oct. 29 Community Baptist, Orting, WA (Tom, Paula)
Nov. 5 Abbe Road Baptist, Elyria, OH (Tom, Paula)
Nov. 12-15 Eastgate Bible Fellowship, Bellevue, WA (Tom, Paula?)

Thank you once again for your faithful prayer and financial support, and your notes of encouragement to us. PRAY for God to move in Japan and bring many of the people there to Himself!

CARRying the Gospel,

Tom, Paula, Mitchell and Tev; Lindy (at Cedarville University) and Andrew (in Cincinnati)
